About me

Vermont-raised and happiest outdoors, I like building things that last — in code and in life.

My story

I grew up in Vermont with my parents and three brothers, and a lot of my personality was formed outside — in the woods, on back roads, and on ballfields. I’ve always loved the feeling of working at something until it finally clicks. As a kid that meant Lego sets and puzzles; later it became maps, photography, and eventually code.

Middlebury College was a big turning point for me. I studied Computer Science (Spatial Reasoning) and Geography, which turned out to be the perfect mix of logic and ‘how things fit together.’ That’s still what I’m drawn to today: noticing patterns, solving problems, and then making the result feel simple and usable for other people.

Work-wise, I’m a data and software engineer. I build pipelines, APIs, dashboards — the behind-the-scenes pieces that help teams trust their data and make better decisions. But outside of work, I’m usually chasing the same things I always have: time outdoors, time making something, and time with the people I love.

Baseball has been a constant thread. I wasn’t a natural athlete, but I stuck with it long enough to play in college, travel to the NBC World Series with the Denver Cougars, and now keep competing in Vermont’s Green Mountain Baseball League (and help run it). I’m still chasing my first league championship with the Black Sox — which feels like a pretty good metaphor for most worthwhile goals.

These days, life is happily full. I met my wife Ellie at Middlebury, we eloped while she was studying abroad in Uruguay, and now we’re raising our little one together. When I’m not working or playing baseball, I’m probably out hiking or camping with a camera, caring for an ever-growing plant collection, or making some kind of small creative mess at home — and looking forward to the day my son wants to build Lego with me.

What I’m up to

  • Hiking, camping, and photographing the outdoors
  • Playing (and helping run) Vermont’s Green Mountain Baseball League
  • Building Lego sets and small creative projects
  • Keeping an ever-growing plant collection alive
  • Family time with Ellie and our little one
